ACTION / MOTION: (This language identifies the formal motion to be made by the Council)

Council to take action on the Construction Contract between City of Buckeye and GCON Inc. (No. 2018-004-001) to remove and replace a 400 KW Generator at the City of Buckeye Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 915 South 7th Street.

SUMMARY

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 

The Construction and Contracting Division issued an Invitation to Bid on January 29, 2018 and held a Pre-bid conference on February 8, 2018. The bid closed on February 26, 2018 with one response.  After review, it was determined that GCON Inc. submitted a responsible, responsive bid package.  The Scope of work includes removal of existing generator, replacing Automatic transfer switch, Provide and install a new 480/277V, 3 phase 4/ W. Nema 3R generator in the same location. The generator will be powered by Cummings or Caterpillar as specified.  The Contractor will clean and utilize the existing fuel tank, perform preventative maintenance testing and field training.

 


BENEFITS:
The Replacement of the Generator will assure the system powered by the generator in the Wastewater Treatment plant system will  run efficiently and without interruption of power.


FUTURE ACTION: Council and staff; does this need to be communicated internally/externally?

The Contractor will be issued a Notice to Proceed upon execution of this contract.
