ACTION / MOTION: (This language identifies the formal motion to be made by the Council)

Council to take action on Delivery Order No. 1 to Job Order Contract (No. 2014-095; 1/5) between the City of Buckeye and Haydon Building Corp. for Water Resources Administration Building tenant improvements to Suites 106 and 107 of Sundance Crossings.

SUMMARY

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 

The Construction and Contracting Division issued DORFP #4 on February 01, 2018 to the five (5) Contractors on the General Construction Job Order Contract #2014-095 (1/5) awarded in April 2015.  Three Contractors responded with proposals as follows; Core Construction $1,103,400.00, Brycon Construction $1,144,900.00 and Hayden Building Corp. $1,010,265.50. The Project shall consist of furnishing all labor, material and equipment to provide tenant improvements to 8790 sf. shell building space located at Sundance Crossings, 21749 W. Yuma Rd., Suites 106 & 107, Buckeye, AZ.  It will include demolition, improvements and four (4) exterior steel canopies. The completed suites will house the Water Resources Administration.  The original budget without FF & E was $750,000.00 based upon 6200 sf.  when the footprint increased to 8790 sf. the budget increased accordingly.  The new budget with Construction, FF & E, Permits will be: Construction Phase in the amount of  $1,010,265.50; FF&E on the project. (Fixtures/Furnishings & Equipment) in the amount of $125,000.00; and permitting fees in the amount of $5,055.00; for a total amount not to exceed $1,140,320.50.


BENEFITS:
The Water Resources Administration will be housed in the same facility and will provide an option for Residents to pay for water services in a central location.  The services will remain at City of Buckeye City Hall.


FUTURE ACTION: Council and staff; does this need to be communicated internally/externally?

The Construction and Contracting Dept. will issue a notice to proceed to initiate construction and have the City Manager approve future FF & E purchases after 50% completion on  construction.


FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT: Must be completed before submission
The budget was approved for the CIP project for Water Admin. Builiding
