Council to take action on the Construction Contract (No. 31800038) between the City of Buckeye and MMI Tank & Industrial Services, Inc. for the removal and replacement of two steel water vessels at the Sundance Booster Station.

SUMMARY

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 

The Water Resources Department requires the removal and replacement of two (2) existing welded steel vessels used for water treatment. The condition of the steel vessels are failing due to coating issues, cathodic protection issues or small leaks. The contract shall include all material, surface preparation, material application, inspection and testing, and handling and disposal of all debris. The two welded steel tanks are located at the Sundance Booster Station, 22900 W. Yuma Road, Buckeye, Arizona 85326.

 

The Construction and Contracting Division issued a Request for Proposals on February 8, 2018, followed by a pre-proposal meeting and site visit on February 21, 2018. Proposals were due on March 1, 2019, with two contractors submitting proposals as follows:

 

MMI Tank & Industrial Service, Inc.

Revaluation Industrial, LLC.

 

After review of the submittals by a three members evaluation committee, it was determined that MMI Tank & Industrial Services, Inc. was the responsive and responsible bidder and best suited for this project.

Fully functioning welded steel vessels.

Contract in the amount of $330,577.00
