ACTION / MOTION: (This language identifies the formal motion to be made by the Council)

Council to take action on Delivery Order No. 2 to Job Order Contract No. 2014-095 (1/5) between the City of Buckeye and Haydon Building Corp for Council Chambers Security Upgrades in an amount not to exceed $202,791.27.

RELEVANT GOALS:
GOAL 4: Adequate, Well-Maintained and Well-Planned Public Infrastructure

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 
This project is to provide security and acoustic improvements/upgrades, an insulated ballistic wall system, to the south side of the first floor of City Hall generally in the Council Chambers and Executive Conference room.  Improvements include the blocking of all interior windows (with the exception of the uppermost lites, which will be tinted, allowing for some natural lighting on the south wall of the Council Chambers as well as the east wall of the Council Chambers), extending north to the include the east wall of the Executive Conference Room as shown in the accompanying plans.  All blocking will also include additional insulation (providing acoustic improvements and ballistic treatments so as to increase security protection to these very public spaces within City Hall.  Interior finishing is also included in the scope of work.  No exterior work is included, so as to not change any of the exterior architectural features of City Hall. The total budgeted amount of the contract will not exceed $202,791.27.

Provide a secure and improved acoustic upgrades to Council Chambers and the Executive conference room.

FUTURE ACTION: Council and staff; does this need to be communicated internally/externally?

Award Contract to JOC Contractor-Haydon Building Corp. and issue Notice to Proceed for Construction.

FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT: Must be completed before submission
In current fiscal CIP Budget.
